Kenya

The most revered of Africa’s safari destinations, Kenya is located in East Africa and boasts the Masai Mara National Park, renowned for its abundant wildlife and annual Great Migration. It is a country brimming with romance, thrill and adventure – nothing says “classic safari” quite like a Kenyan safari. A Kenyan safari not only boasts spectacular natural beauty in one of the most unspoiled places on earth, but it also brings you up close and personal with Africa’s most sought-after wildlife.

Botswana

From the crystal-clear waters of the Okavango Delta to the large elephant herds in the Chobe National Park and the unpredictable Savute Channel, which runs dry and floods seemingly at random – Botswana is blessed with some of Africa’s most beautiful reserves and an array of exceptional wildlife. The Okavango Delta is a magical oasis – water in the desert is a truly spectacular sight. The wide, grassy floodplains are host to a magnificent range of wild animals, including the specially adapted sitatunga and red lechwe antelopes. Chobe National Park in Botswana is famed for having Africa’s largest single concentration of elephant, while Moremi Game Reserve is renowned for its brilliant birdlife. Also, not-to-be-missed is an exploration of the stark and dramatic landscapes of the Kalahari Desert and the iconic Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.

Tanzania

Tanzania is Africa’s visual masterpiece. It is a country of natural splendour, astounding wildlife, seductive beaches, charming ancient towns, archaeological sites and geological wonders. Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, rises from lush, grassy plains and towers over the land. Its snow-capped peak is a sight to behold. Climbing Kilimanjaro is surprisingly easy and standing on the roof of Africa is a life-changing experience. The ideal bush and beach destination, visitors can witness the mighty herds of the Great Migration thundering across the Serengeti plains and end their unforgettable safari with a serene beach holiday on Zanzibar, the intoxicatingly beautiful and exotic Spice Island.

Namibia

Namibia is the soul of Africa, characterised by vast open spaces, breathtaking scenery and great contrasts – ocean, dunes, mountains and deserts. This vast desert country of rolling dunes and swirling mists stirs the spirit and moves the heart. Namibia is so large and sparsely populated that it is possible to discover enormous open spaces without roads, towns, trees or even stones, just the lonely desert wind passing through one of the most enchanting corners of the earth. Africa’s largest game park, the Namib-Naukluft Park, is a must see when on safari in Namibia, with its magnificent sea of rolling red dunes at Sossusvlei. Etosha National Park is one of Africa’s great parks in both size and diversity of wildlife. In the country’s far north eastern pocket is the captivating and largely unexplored Caprivi Strip.

Indian Ocean Islands

From vibrant Mauritius and historically-rich Zanzibar to the idyllic atolls of the Seychelles, Mozambique and Maldives, the Indian Ocean Islands beckon to lovers of sun, sand and azure waters. Blessed with a tropical climate, and offering immaculate powder-soft beaches, these spectacular destinations play host to a wonderful array of water sport, cultural and marine life viewing adventures. Below the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean, snorkellers and scuba divers are introduced to kaleidoscopic coral reefs, which provide sanctuary to hundreds of species of fish and an assortment of marine mammals; some only native to their regions. Award-winning, luxury accommodation options; mouthwatering local cuisine and world-class spas ensure an unforgettable stay for families, groups, couples and individual travellers alike!

Rwanda

Tucked in between the iconic safari destinations of Kenya and Tanzania, Rwanda offers guests some of the best primate tracking on the planet – set against the backdrop of its endless green hills and soaring mountainsides. With over half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population, it’s no surprise that the majority of guests visit Rwanda to track and view our highly endangered cousins. Rwanda is superb for primates in general, including the fun-loving Sykes monkey, the Golden monkey and the boisterous chimpanzee in the Nyungwe Forest. Despite a turbulent past, Rwanda is a safe and friendly destination – testament to the resilience of its people. For guests seeking a deeply enriching safari, Rwanda offers an experience that is difficult to find anywhere else.

Uganda

Uganda lies on the equator, east of Tanzania and Kenya and west of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is smaller than the United Kingdom but boasts a spectacular array of landscapes – from snow-capped mountains and savannah to lush swampland and impenetrable forests. Its remote, unspoilt parks teem with wildlife such as the famed East Africa big game species of lion, elephant and buffalo as well as primates and over a thousand species of birds. Uganda, and its neighbour Rwanda, share the unique responsibility of conserving a population of critically endangered mountain gorillas and chimpanzees, funded in no small part through the trekking fees levied on visiting guests. Arriving at Entebbe airport in the capital Kampala visitors can embark on a full safari itinerary encompassing the best of the diverse parks, or simply a short excursion to the southeast for gorilla trekking.

Zimbabwe

Tucked between the mighty Zambezi and the rolling Limpopo River, Zimbabwe is best known for the magnificent spectacle of the Victoria Falls. Zimbabwe derives its name from the spectacular stone structures of the Great Zimbabwe ruins, a World Heritage Site with a mysterious origin. The country is home to another four World Heritage sites, including the rugged granite outcrops of the Matobo Hills, the spectacular conservation area of Mana Pools and the magnificent Victoria Falls. The world’s largest man-made reservoir, the vast waters of Lake Kariba are home to the fierce tiger fish, renowned among avid anglers, while herds of wildlife wander its shores.

Zambia

Zambia is the undiscovered treasure trove of Africa. It shelters extraordinary natural beauty and is one of the most pristine and unspoiled wildlife havens on the continent. It is easy to see why Zambia boasts one of the largest areas of land under protection as a national park in Africa. The thundering splendour of the Victoria Falls draws most visitors to this gentle and peaceful country. Less frequented than Zimbabwe, many travellers prefer to see the falls from the Zambian side and some claim the views are even more spectacular.
