DAY 2: Explore Norfolk Island

Today, lunch will be at the Olive Café.  The Olive Café is located in the Village and is one of the busiest cafés on the island.

Following lunch you will experience an overview of this wonderful Island on a Half Day Island Tour. This tour is a must for all visitors and will introduce you to Norfolk’s beautiful scenery, rich history, heritage and the way of life that is enjoyed today. The guide will keep you informed and entertained as you journey around Norfolk taking in some of the impressive sights it has to offer. Visit historic Kingston and see the most popular beach on Norfolk, Emily Bay plus the famous convict buildings. Marvel at the Melanesian Chapel with its beautiful stained glass windows, enjoy the views from Cascade and Anson Bay.  We finish the tour with refreshments at an old historic home.

This beautiful home was built by Fletcher Quintal, a descendent of the “Bounty” mutineers, Fletcher Christian and Matthew Quintal.

Tonight’s dinner will be at the Homestead Restaurant. The Homestead Restaurant pairs local ingredients with the elemental technique of cooking over fire to enhance the contemporary dining experience.  100 Acre Farm is a working farm that produces beef and vegetables commercially. They embrace the farm to plate philosophy as well as sourcing line caught fish from Norfolk’s clean wide waters.

After dinner head to Wonderland by Night that celebrates the stories of life gone by on Norfolk Island and how the past has shaped our identity. The setting is 10 acres of magical Norfolk Pines, which are lit up like a magical enchanted forest. Meander along (or ride in the ‘moon buggy’) through a gentle winding path with a descendant of the Bounty Mutineers, as they recite poems and light up the dioramas. while sharing entertaining stories.  Enjoy a cuppa at the end of the bush, before being bussed back to your accommodation.

DAY 3: High Tea & Historic Tour

Today’s lunch is a High Tea at Forrester Court. Indulge in a seasonal assortment of 6 savoury foods and 4 tantalising sweets, served on traditional platters. Menu includes a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, a pot of plunger coffee or T2 tea of your choice, we finish with sampling of local liqueurs. High Tea is served on the magnificent cliff top lawns overlooking Cascade Bay.

After lunch, you will set off on the Convict Kingston Tour. Learn about World Heritage Listed Kingston, the first settlers, and the Polynesians who came 900 years ago.  Learn about our First and Second settlements, and the facts and legends associated with each. Learn how Norfolk became home to the descendants of the infamous Bounty mutiny, and walk through the historic cemetery.

Before dinner, you will head to Fletcher’s Mutiny Cyclorama.  The Cyclorama provides a total experience, bringing to life the history of the Norfolk Island people and their connection with the infamous mutiny on the ‘Bounty’. An outstanding attraction and Tourism Awards winner, this stunning 360° panoramic painting with realistic 3D effects has been impressing visitors to Norfolk Island with its ‘wow’ factor for over 18 years.

Dinner tonight will next at Hilli's Restaurant. Hilli’s Restaurant is one of Norfolk Island’s leading fine dining restaurants. Offering a variety of cuisines and a welcoming atmosphere, it has become a popular place to dine for both locals and tourists alike. The warm wooden interiors and the outer surrounding gardens give the restaurant an excellent setting for relaxing and enjoying the best that the island has to offer - in fresh produce, as well as locally sourced seafood. This reflects the very meaning of the name “Hilli”, which is a Norfolk Island expression meaning “disinclined to exertion, relax, take it easy, and unwind.”
